It sounds like an unusual yet powerful metal bang, or better yet, some kind of gong. I used my Zoom H4N Pro to record me tapping a lighter against a 4 OZ can of body spray. Cleaned up the recording a little, compressed it, EQ'd, added a ton of reverb, played a single key very low and also turned the pitch down slightly. This is what was left.
