I just got some Rode NT5-o capsules to record impulse reponses. Here I'm comparing the NT5-O to my previous omni microphone, the Superlux ECM-999 measurement microphone. I had found the Superlux to be too noisy, to adequately hear the reverb of a place until the end. I'm exaggerating there to normalise the sounds after 0.5s, but you can hear the NT5 can clearly recover some reverb while the Supelux is lost in noise. Gear Tascam FR-AV2 Rode NT5 with NT45-o capsule, superlux ecm-999. Both had a foam wind-cover on. Balloon popped 1m under the microphones. Commentary on a Mac book air m2 microphone. Indoors in a 490cm L x 300 W x 270cm H room.
